Juan Pablo Uribe, MD, is the Director of the Division for Central America and the Dominican Republic at the World Bank, a position he has held since July 1, 2025. Based in Panama City, he leads the strategic dialogue to define and implement the Bank's support in Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, and the Dominican Republic. He works closely with development partners and various stakeholders and fosters collaboration and joint work with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), both organizations of the World Bank Group.

Previously, Juan Pablo Uribe served as the Global Director of Health at the World Bank and as Director of the Global Financing Facility for Women, Children, and Adolescents (GFF). Between 2018 and 2019, he was Colombia's Minister of Health and Social Protection. Prior to this, he was the General Director of Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá, a leading organization in Colombia in healthcare, health education, and public health. From 2009 to 2011, he was the Health Sector Manager at the World Bank for East Asia and the Pacific.

Throughout his career, first as a physician specializing in public health and public administration, and later in leadership positions in the public and private sectors, Mr. Uribe has contributed significantly to the development of public health, the strengthening of health systems, and the design of public policies.
